Research Psychologist opportunities with the US Navy!

The Navy Research Psychology Specialty is currently screening interested Doctoral candidates, Post-doctoral Fellows, or recent PhD recipients about becoming a Medical Service Corps Officer in US Navy, serving as a Research Psychologist.

The Navy has a small research science community specializing in psychology. We typically bring in 1-2 persons per year as commissioned officers to work as scientists focusing on basic and applied research in areas of military medicine, human performance, and psychological issues.

There is a standard application process. Persons must be able to meet the citizenship, security, and medical requirements to join the US Military as well as meet the professional standards of the Research Psychology community. That is a doctorate in a research-based PhD program in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline, plus a strong track record of
publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Interested parties can either contact their local navy medical officer recruiter or respond to this announcement calling 301-319-7681 to get a hold of the Navy Research Psychology Recruitment Coordinator.
