Paid Tutors needed for Fall 2015 PSYC 200, PSYC 221, and PSYC 300 courses!

Hello PSYC majors! With the summer well underway, the Academic Achievement Programs' (AAP) is hiring academic peer tutors for PSYC 200, 221, & 300 in Fall 2015 for its Academic Success & Tutorial Services (ASTS) initiative. You are eligible to apply if you: 
  • Earned a grade of B or better in the course for which they are applying
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Have a firm grasp of the subject area
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills and readily relate to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
  • Have demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and punctuality in past experiences
  • Are a sophomore or junior at UM (preferred, not required)
  • Have tutoring/teaching experience (preferred, not required)
The hiring process includes an application form, resume, letter of interest, an interview, and a letter of recommendation (letters submitted following the interview process). Tutors are compensated at $8.50-9.25/hour, with the time commitment ranging from 2-3 hours a week per course, on average. All tutors receive formal training and attend biweekly staff development meetings with other AAP peer tutors.
